An escape room is a team experience in which players usually have 60 minutes to complete a mission. They search for clues, solve puzzles, decode ciphers and help one another as the story unfolds. The format suits families, couples, workplace teams and groups of friends.
Every escape room is different. Players from Haifa, the Krayot, Nesher and elsewhere in northern Israel have plenty of options, but a few practical criteria will help you identify the right one.

Match the room to the number of players
Check how many people the room can genuinely accommodate. Do not try to add players beyond the permitted number, however appealing the story sounds: crowding makes movement and tasks uncomfortable. Some rooms suit a couple, while others are designed for a larger team.
Consider the players’ ages as well. Some rooms are suitable for families or children and others are intended for adults. Suitability may relate to the difficulty, the style of the room or the subject of the mission.

Room style and difficulty
Escape-room themes range from futuristic challenges and fantasy to espionage and horror. Expectations differ, so review the options and make sure the subject appeals to everyone before booking.
Difficulty matters too. Rooms with more accessible puzzles are a good introduction for beginners. Challenging and very challenging games are better for teams that already have experience and have found many previous rooms too easy.

You may be planning a birthday or organising a team-building day. In that case, look beyond the game itself: check whether there is a comfortable place to gather beforehand and what the area offers after you finish.

Quest Room’s escape rooms in Haifa
Quest Room opened Haifa’s first escape room and was among the early operators to develop the format in northern Israel.
