Real Detective was the first escape room opened by Quest Room in Haifa.
The room was built in September 2015 by a young entrepreneurial couple. They transformed an ageing office complex into a carefully designed investigation filled with hidden spaces and surprises.
An escape room gives a group a mission to complete inside a themed game space. To reach the finale within the time limit, players solve puzzles, search for clues and crack codes.
Real-life escape rooms grew out of escape-the-room computer games. Early experiences in Asia and Europe quickly developed into a distinct form of entertainment and spread around the world.
The format also gained momentum in Israel during the mid-2010s. In September 2015, we opened Real Detective as one of Haifa’s first escape rooms.
The story takes place in New York. Players become a team of detectives who must locate and defuse a bomb hidden by a terrorist in an abandoned office.
As soon as the mission begins, new evidence and challenges move the investigation forward. The team has 60 minutes to solve the puzzles and defuse the bomb.
A game master follows the team remotely, responds over the radio and provides hints when players ask. They may also offer a gentle nudge if the team risks running out of time.
No prior knowledge is required, and the game itself is language-independent.
The variety of puzzles, music and set design helped the room find an audience and paved the way for more Quest Room games, including Agent 007, The Lord of the Rings, Destiny Games, Nuclear Reactor, The Saw, Sin City and The Purge.
Even as Haifa’s escape-room market has grown, the room continues to receive excellent guest reviews. It has also been covered by media in Haifa and the Krayot.
Real Detective is designed for 2–8 players, including first-time and experienced teams, families, adults, workplace groups, students, service members and teenagers. Solving the game does not depend on a particular language; game-master support in a specific language should be arranged in advance.

Quest Room’s escape rooms in Haifa
Quest Room opened Haifa’s first escape room and was among the early operators to develop the format in northern Israel. Today the complex has eight escape-room games at one address, placing it among Israel’s largest and most varied escape-room complexes and among the most prominent in the north. In each game, a team enters a story world for about 60 minutes, searches for clues, deciphers codes and uses only items intended for play, in line with the briefing, to complete the mission.
These games have several names — escape room, puzzle room or Quest Room — but all describe a team adventure to share with friends, family or a partner.
The complex is easy to reach whether you are coming from Haifa, Nesher, the Krayot, Zikhron Ya’akov, elsewhere in northern Israel or the centre of the country. Choose a room and book a game, or buy a gift card for friends or family.
